As the Enterprise Risk Manager, I lead the comprehensive Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework, focusing ​on continuous enhancement of risk identification, assessment, and mitigation processes across the organization. This ​role is pivotal in strengthening the organization's defenses, ensuring robust vendor management, and maintaining ​stringent fraud prevention measures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Enterprise Risk Management (ERM): Direct the development and ongoing refinement of risk management ​strategies and policies to ensure alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Regularly ​update risk taxonomy and control inventories to reflect evolving business needs and market dynamics.
  
• Risk Assessment and Reporting: Spearhead periodic risk assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of existing ​controls and the need for new risk mitigation strategies. Provide comprehensive risk reports to senior ​management and governance bodies, highlighting key risks, control effectiveness, and mitigation responses.
  
• Technology and Process Enhancement: Implement and optimize risk management technologies, including ​Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) tools, to automate and enhance risk processes. This includes improving ​the enterprise incident management framework to ensure rapid response and recovery.
  
• Enterprise Fraud Program: Manage and continuously improve frameworks to detect, prevent, and respond to ​fraudulent activities, safeguarding organizational assets and customer trust.
  
• Vendor Management Program: Oversee the vendor management program, ensuring all third-party services ​comply with established risk tolerances and security standards.
  
• Governance and Compliance: Coordinate with risk and compliance committees, preparing agendas and ​developing materials for committee meetings. Ensure all risk management activities are compliant with internal ​policies and external regulations.
  
• Risk Appetite and Framework Management: Own and refine the risk appetite framework, aligning it with ​strategic objectives and operational tactics across various lines of business.
  
• Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery: Develop and maintain plans to ensure business resilience and ​continuity in the face of disruptions, enhancing organizational readiness and response capabilities.
  
• Cyber Security Support: Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to support incident management related to ​security breaches and potential threats, enhancing defensive and preventive measures.
  

Notable Accomplishments

• Led project to implement new GRC platform for Risk, Vendor Management, Incident and Audit
  
• Created new incident reporting method for enterprise-wide events
• Revamped corporate wide Business Impact Analysis (BIA)
• Created a new policy companion document for the BIA
• Updated VRM Policy and Risk Tolerance Statement (board approvals)
• Helped foster ERM culture that gained the risk department more management buy-in

Managed the newly formed eServices department within the credit union. Oversaw tasks that eServices managed such as; online chats, mobile check deposits, member messages, IRA servicing, card servicing (debit/credit), online account openings and various other operational tasks. Being in charge of a new department meant many new tasks and challenges that had to be dealt with efficiently and effectively for continued business operations and growth.

Worked as a loan officer and member service representative in the credit union's Call Center. Worked in operations taking loan and new account applications as well as credit analysis to offer members products. Took inbound and made outbound calls assisting with banking related questions and issues. Member assistance could include basic account questions, loan questions, account maintenance, escalated calls, online banking assistance and overall member concerns.

Worked in the accounting department performing a variety of tasks including general ledger reconciliation, patient refund processing, expense report filings, classifications and various data entries for the business account. Handled petty cash audits throughout each of the offices as well corporate account receipt collection for classifying.

Family Bonding

I love spending time with my beautiful wife, son, parents, sister, and nephew. Family bonding is important to me and I enjoy all the moments - big or small.

Sports

I will never claim I am actually GOOD at sports, however, I do enjoy casual team sports with friends and attending Florida Gator sporting events. Growing up in a college town, any connection you make can begin with a friendly college rivalry!

Fur Babies

After a long day, coming home to our two wonderful four-legged children will always put a smile on my face. Our dog Penny and cat Rosalina are the sweetest and remind us why and how life can be so great!

Gaming

My parents told me I would eventually grow out of gaming but here I am at 30 still enjoying it! I am interested in all types of games - video games, card games and casino games. Gaming has always had a special place in my heart and has led to many friendships that span the globe. A nice relaxing night gaming with friends will always be a good time for me.
